Yaker Tape Review

Yaker Tape Review.

I've had Yaker Tape on my canoe for the past 6 months. To some that may not seem enough time for a review. But in that time my canoe has done 1500km, been scraped on rocky beaches, sandy beaches, jettys, grade 2/3 white water and made contact with a hidden rock on a seal launch (Ouch!).

I can honestly say Yaker Tape is awesome! I fitted the 50mm tape in two 1.5m lengths on the bow and stern of my canoe. This was my first time fitting it and it was a doddle. Firstly, round off the tape with scissors at each end (this makes it less likely to catch rocks/jettys ect) Then start by heating and sticking the tape closest to the centre of your canoe. As you work towards the end caps, heat and stretch the tape to leave no unwanted creases. I'm confident this will stay on for years to come and is offering much needed protection to my canoes high wear areas.

The durability is much better than cheaper laminated tapes and the fitting was way easier than a skid plate kit. I have no doubt this would work well for boat repair too.
